The San Jose, Calif., company unveiled the ProStores service at its annual seller conference EBay Live. The new service enables current EBay sellers or other small and medium-sized businesses to build a storefront with their own branding, categories and unique Internet address.
ProStores also integrates with existing EBay stores, making it possible for sellers to manage listings and inventory for both stores and use EBay's online payment service PayPal.
"EBay sellers are looking to maximize their sales online, and many are interested in doing so through more than one channel," Bill Cobb, president of eBay North America, said in a statement.
Pricing starts at $6.95 a month, with fees ranging from 0.5 percent to 1.5 percent per successful transaction. The service package includes shopping carts with secure checkout, and shipping integration with major shippers.
EBay also launched at the conference a private online marketplace for its largest sellers, called EBay PowerSellers, to buy liquidated and refurbished inventory and excess inventory in lot sizes directly from manufacturers and distributors.
Reseller Marketplace also offers a new sales channel for manufacturers and liquidators, EBay said.
