Ex-Treasury CIO Gets ITAA Post

Jim Flyzik will head the IT trade association's homeland-security task group.
Jim Flyzik, a former senior adviser to Homeland Security czar Tom Ridge, was named Tuesday as chairman of the Information Technology Association of America's homeland-security task group.

The group addresses issues such as risk sharing and security-clearance requirements for homeland-security contractors.

A former Treasury CIO and vice chairman of the federal CIO Council, Flyzik, who retired from government in December, says he frequently looked to private-sector colleagues for guidance, support, and new ideas during his 20-plus years in government. "Now," Flyzik says, "it's my turn to help from the outside."
