'Tis the season when the geeky get jolly. Or the jolly get geeky. In honor of the holiday season, I've put together a list of 10 great geeky presents to put on your list. Whether you are geek looking to add to your dragon's horde or you know a geek you think is hard to shop for, I've found something right for every geek taste.

You'll notice the list is fairly short on licensed products. There are a few reasons for that. First, the obvious geek gear is all about Star Wars this year. We compiled our own Star Wars gift guide, so I went light on the Star Wars picks (but there was one item I couldn't resist including). Second, anyone can go out and buy a replica of the One Ring or a remote control that looks like a Star Trek phaser. Last, I tried to find gifts that would appeal to any geek rather than trying to base the choices on being a fan of any one particular thing.

[See 10 Great Tech Gifts For Under $100.]

Take a look at the list. Then tell me which ones of my picks are going to go on your holiday shopping list, and what made it onto your personal wish list this year.

Re: Love the fish tank
Terry,

Probably the world couldn't take more than a few days of ugly sweaters. Or, they would become a sort of fashion and at some point people would start believing they are cool and beautiful. That's what happens with fashion, isn't it?

Happy New Year! :D

TerryB,

What a good memory! :) Thanks for the explanation. :D This is the first time I've heard about ugly sweater parties. Is it only for Christmas and Christmas themed sweaters?

Nomi, Yes, the planet props are cool. Gifts not always have to be expensive to be cool. However, I would not pay that price for a lollypop. -Susan

Whoopty/David

I agree, the fish-tank-garden is the coolest thing on the list. I'd love to have one, but my lifestyle doesn't allow me to have any living thing with me, except for some good bacteria here and there.

Re: Planet Pops
Brian,

I wonder if those shop that sell hard candy get rid of the candy after a year, or put the candies on sale, something I have never seen, have you?

Sonic screwdriver and Tardis
David,

No Doctor Who's sonic screwdriver? Or Tardis? I'd love to have a Tardis as a tea box and a sonic screwdriver for the loose tea, you know, to make the tea in the tea cup. :D

@David, yes, I suppose you can even hang them on the tree in place of the usual balls.

Re: Planet Pops
@areilla- I guess so. $3 per pop is more than your average sucker. I think mostly people who buy these use them for decoration.
