To mark the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize next month, Cisco Systems, the Nobel Foundation's IT partner, sponsored a survey by Princeton Survey Research Associates of the 259 living laureates. Of the 71 who responded, 82% say the Net will speed innovation over the next two decades; 83% say it will enhance productivity; and 69% say it could have hastened the completion of their own work. But 65% cite online privacy as a concern.
