Growth Finally Returns To IT Services Firms

The IT services business is growing again after four years of declining revenues and the top segment of the field is positively booming, according to a report released Tuesday by the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses (NACCB.)

The median IT services firm posted revenue growth of six percent, the NACCB said. "While the rising tide appears to be 'lifting all boats,' the management strategy of a number of firms appears to enable them to generate outsize revenue and profit gains," said Mark Roberts, NACCB CEO, in a statement

The top quartile of the surveyed companies demonstrated that median net profitability of the top quartile was 10.6 percent. At the same time, typical IT services firms achieved 3.9 percent profitability, which is still an increase over previous periods.

The report compiled data from 108 IT services companies.
