Less than a month after expanding its partnership with Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu Ltd.--the "other" Sparc microprocessor manufacturer--last week disclosed enhancements to its Sparc64. Using 90-nanometer process technology, the Sparc64 V operates at 1.89 GHz and has an integrated 3 Mbytes of secondary cache. Fujitsu Primepower servers featuring the new processors will be available in September, and the processor can be mixed in systems with prior generations of Sparc64 devices.
