Re: Jon Stewart was no leader
He was no more a lacky than any other news organization (including fox news). Heck, at least stewart criticized the obama administration strongly, loudly, and consistently on certain areas (such as the continued embarrassment that is the government's treatment of our veterans, which has been a Washington tradition since the revolutionary war).
The truth is, the daily show (and the colbert show) gave us far more information about certain dirty secrets of politics AND business then you'd ever hear on any of the news networks. While Fox spends all their time trying to drum up support for a smoking gun on Benghazi, or try to pawn off on the american people that all the problems in the middle east would have been solved if we just stayed in iraq, they ignored (and still ignore) things like the rampant money and corruption going on through politics (the colbert superPac showed it all), how wall street makes up the rules to suit them (and how the business networks ignore any news on shenanigans).
Heck, who else tells us CNN is a joke of a network? I don't watch any of the 'popular' news networks, because they're all just spinning the story and making things up. With no apologies when they get it wrong. I always feel sad when I hear people say they watch Fox News. I'd feel sad if anyone said they watch MSNBC, but I don't know anyone who watches that (maybe they do and are just embarrassed about it).
