Motorola (Schaumburg, Ill.) will equip the retail locations, operated by Zoom Systems, with automated vending machines housing over 25 Motorola mobile phone products. The selection will include carrier-ready Razr handsets, Bluetooth-enabled headsets, cordless phones, and car chargers, according to the company.
The company will initially deploy 20 of these stories in high-traffic retail locations throughout the U.S. Vending systems now exist in San Francisco International Airport and a Macy's in downtown Chicago.
"Continuing our effort to reinvent mobile retail culture and transform the consumer experience, this on-demand retail solution is an interesting approach to the many extensions of our retail strategy," said Jason Few, corporate vice president, Global Retail, Motorola, in a statement.
