New Iomega DVD Burner Offers 4x Double-Layer Recording

Iomega Corp. announced on Monday the availability of the Iomega Super DVD Writer 16x16 Dual-Format USB 2.0 Drive.
Iomega Corp. announced on Monday the availability of the Iomega Super DVD Writer 16x16 Dual-Format USB 2.0 Drive. The external drive, housed in a slim black enclosure, handles all major disc formats, including 4x recording of new DVD+R DL (double layer) discs.

Supported formats include the new double-layer DVD format, DVD+R DL, which has a 4x write speed; DVD+R and DVD+RW (16x8x8x write, rewrite, and read); DVD-R and DVD-RW (16x6x8x); and CD-R and CD-RW discs (48x24x32x). The new drive also features 40x digital audio extraction and buffer underrun protection for reliable burns.

The package includes a number of software titles, including:

  • Iomega Automatic Backup software for continuous real-time data backup;

  • Iomega HotBurn Pro software for Windows, for creating music or data discs, saving Internet downloads, managing large files;

  • Sonic MyDVD 6 software for original digital video creation and editing;

  • Sonic CinePlayer software for DVD video viewing;

  • Charismac Discribe software for Macintosh, for creating music or data discs, saving Internet downloads, managing large files;

  • Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition software for managing photos and graphic arts files;

  • MUSICMATCH software for playing music files.
