Sharp Systems of America announced Tuesday the availability of its Actius MC24 notebook computer, the latest addition to Sharp's Actius notebook line, geared toward the consumer and home/small office user.
Sharp Systems of America announced Tuesday the availability of its Actius MC24 notebook computer, the latest addition to Sharp's Actius notebook line, geared toward the consumer and home/small office user.

The Actius MC24 the Actius MC24 comes equipped with an AMD Athlon XP-M processor 2400+, which features AMD PowerNow! technology for extended battery life. The Actius MC24 also comes standard with 512 MB DDR-SDRAM (upgradeable to 768 MB), Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating software, and a 60GB hard drive.

Equipped for wireless connectivity via integrated IEEE802.11b/g Wi-Fi (supporting 11 channels), the Actius MC24 also includes with a CD-R/RW/DVD combo drive, four USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, and a PCMCIA Type II card slot. Ergonomic features include a 12.1-inch XGA (1024 x 768) LCD screen and a "smile" keyboard, which is curved for comfortable typing.

The Sharp Actius MC24 sells for an estimated street price of $999.
