Vertical Networks Inc. is launching a larger model in its InstantOffice line of IP-based all-in-one communications systems. The new model, the InstantOffice 6000, is for locations with as many as 180 people. As with previous, smaller products, it combines PBX functions, voice mail, automated attendant features, multiprotocol routing, Ethernet LAN switching, and IP voice gateway functions on a single system.

The company also will unveil Release 4.0 of its InstantOffice operating system software, which will bring new features to the vendor's product line, including its InstantOffice 3000 and 5000 models. New PBX-style features offered with Release 4.0 include zone paging, access to outside lines, multiple message-waiting indicators, redirection of fax calls, systemwide speed dialing, authorization codes for toll calling, more voice mailboxes, and a call assistant.

Release 4.0 will be available next month and will cost $1,200 as an upgrade to InstantOffice 3000; $2,800 as an upgrade to InstantOffice 5000. Pricing for InstantOffice 6000, also available in June, starts at $14,990.
