Wednesday's edition of The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Hewlett-Packard and private equity firm Blackstone Group are in talks to acquire defense IT specialist Computer Sciences Corp. This follows reports that private capital is also behind a possible buyout of Affiliated Computer Services. These deals could happen, but...Caution is advised. The Journal "broke" the news late last year that defense contractor Lockheed Martin was close to snagging CSC. But that came to naught.
