J.P. Morgan Chase Buys SymPro

Financial-services firm J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. has acquired SymPro Inc., a company that provides treasury-management software for municipalities and public agencies. SymPro's clients, including public agencies that manage water, power, airports, and other infrastructure, will benefit from J.P. Morgan's expertise in public finance, including areas such as payments processing, liquidity management, and financial reporting, says J.P. Morgan Chase senior VP Irv Cohen. Adds Cohen, "We're looking to marry [SymPro] to our global cash-management practice."
