Oracle says it's ready to ship its Order Management application, which until now has been one of the most important but incomplete components of Oracle 11i. Oracle executive VP Sandy Sanderson says the application is fully integrated with 11i, including the E-commerce-oriented offering's enterprise resource planning and customer-relationship management apps. Insiders had said the release of 11i was held up for several months because the Order Management software was not ready.
Integrating the new software with other 11i components provides "a single view of the customer" that includes sales-force automation, contact center, marketing, service, and account information, Sanderson says. The application has a deep level of integration with other 11i components because customer data shared between Order Management and other 11i components is stored in a master customer-data file, he says.
The application has been entirely rewritten and sports an improved user interface, he says. The application also makes it easier to manage both business and individual consumers than earlier versions did, he says.
Pricing for Order Management has not been set.
