Linux Training To Go Online

Red Hat Inc. is working with online teaching company DigitalThink Inc. to put its Linux training curriculum online.

DigitalThink and Red Hat are creating coursework that will prepare students to take the Red Hat Certified Engineer exam, a test of the ability to manage Linux servers in enterprise roles. The online-training program will cover the same material taught conventionally. The exam itself, however, won't be offered online.

Prerequisite engineering courses are scheduled to go live at http://www.redhat.com and http://www.digitalthink.com in July. The engineering course will be available in September.

Last week, Red Hat said IBM would offer the Red Hat Certified Engineer program at IBM training centers around the world. Red Hat's engineering program is now available in 80 U.S. cities.
