CPU note
Note that while the CPU in the i5 model of the Surface Pro 3 does use the less powerful HD 4400 graphics option, it is actually a faster i5 model than that in the Macbook Air (1.9Ghz base frequency versus 1.4Ghz). For the most part you'll notice the CPU difference more than the GPU difference. But if you are in a situation where it will make a difference then you may want to spring for the i7 model (with the somewhat more powerful HD 5000 graphics).

I find myself amused for some reason
at the mention of preorders for this.  While I'm sure it's nice, I can't picture throngs of people storming the castle and sleeping out in lines for it, like you get with the early ipads.  And I'm not an Apple lover, I don't own an iPad, just curious about what the demand is on preorders for this?

First impressions?
We'd love to hear from any of you who hit stores to play with the device this weekend.
