re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview Date Confirmed
The computer that I would like to test this on is a 2 year old 64 bit Toshiba laptop that I'm running Linux on. Do you know if Windows 8 can be loaded on a Linux machine?

re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview Date Confirmed
I really thought that the typical Windows 8 green background UI was just a windowing layer run on top of a standard looking Windows interface. That's how it seemed to work in the dev preview - where there was essentially a touch friendly layer added on top of plain old Windows.

Are you saying that there's an updated preview where the Start button is removed or are you just saying that the Start menu does not appear in the metro theme?
