1. Couldn't there be a special commitee assigned to investigate how other countries have implementated ICD-10? Find out about their successes and failures?
2. If ICD-10 Can;t be implementated all at once, could implementation be phased in by state or regions?
Please AMA and CMS I plead with you not to close the door on implementationg ICD-10-CM. ICD-10-CM captures greater specificity on conditions and will further reflect greatly on your case mix index on severity of illness. Work with AHIMA and AAPC towards phasing in ICD-10-CM.
