So why would anyone as it stands right now want to use the Mayo app as a patient? It could change once they get the platform moving along. This is going to be a big deal with EMRs too as you mentioned the privacy issues are there along with HIPAA. So far they have not done anything different than what HealthVault for example offers.
Even Dr. Halamka at Harvard doesn't have clue yet he said recently on adding patient data but it's on his list of things to do this year...so good luck. Also heard Apple was talking to insurers and I'm sure they are on a fact finding mission, but have Apple coders and United Healthcare coders, a company that gets 1/3 of it's revenue anymore from code and analytics, site down together and write code..I'm headed for the exits, thank you very much:)
