Re: Don't forget your roots
It used to be cheap stuff by individual folks cleaning out their bins. Now it is mainly corporate entities flooding ebay and their offers are either no longer inexpensive or based on volume sales undercutting those who just happen to have one of the same item for sale, of course with free shipping. It used to be an online flea market without businesses and now it is nothing more than a corporate store front.

On top of that, eBay charges a fee, forces folks to use PayPal, and PayPal of course also charges a fee as well. These fees went up and up over time killing off any small margin the casual seller could make. I used to be able to turn old electronics for a profit, now I only sell because I hate to throw them in the trash, but given the effort the return is null.

The shift to mainly professional sellers and excessive greed are eBay's own undoing.
