effective to some level.
In clinical settings, interaction with patient is of critical value and no diagnosis should be made just based on the symptoms..as not only is health considered to be a state of balance between both your body AND mind, the extraction of right/useful information from patient is also a task expected of a doctor. In that regard, I think IT will not replace the human interaction of a clinical set up but for follow-up staying in touch though online means can be useful and time-saving for both doctor and patient.

Careful, but optimising
I'll be interested to see what effect wearables have on this, as they have the potential to make long distance diagnosis possible for those in hard to reach areas, or the severely disabled.

However, I think we need to continue to push for face to face diagnosis and make sure we don't come to rely on a quick assessment based on symptoms. There's a lot of potential for false positivees with a system like that.
