Physical wear and tear

I love the creativity in all the videos, LOL! Seriously though, not enough people have had the phone long enough to determine if it's a real issue or just a defect in some of the phones. Time will tell if the iphone bends, breaks or is just fine under regular wear. I would be interested in knowing if Apple tests the physical phone for wear along with the software testing.

While these are all great, the whole bending saga suggests, to me at least, that Apple's product testing needs improvement. The fact that it didn't spot this in QA seems ridiculous. I guarantee there's a lot of skinny jeans wearers at Apple, were none of them given the product to take home to see how it performed? Did none of them sit with it in their pocket?

It's as bizarre as the antenna problem on the iPhone 4. Had an Apple employee never held the phone like almost everyone else does? 

Very odd.

I would like a phone with a fold-out display someday...but not an origami iPhone like this. Funny stuff.

How about something that's the size of a short, thick pen.  Like a retractable tape measure, the screen unrolls from within this tube and locks into place.  When finished, a button on the end causes it to retract again.

Bendgate is only a small part of the larger embarassment of this opening.  It is now aggravated by pretending it hasn't happened, is only a minor few off the same assembly line, or is exaggerated (besides that inconvenience Ms. Lincoln, how was that play?).   The complete system included iOS 8 which is already on its third iteration (8.0.2 ?) only days out of opening gate due to serious, evident flaws.  Apple's reputation was hit, the world is laughing, and their stock prices justifiably reflect it.  Apple is not alone however (look no further than the daily product recalls) and others should seriously ask themselves if meeting an advertised deadline at all costs is more important than a week's delay to ensure a quality product hits the streets.  Americans deal with failure by poking fun at it, thankfully Apple's pocket book is deep enough to absorb the fallout where others companies could not.

It's interesting that all these companies seize on social controversy surrounding Apple. Social media appears to me to be fundamentally parasitic.

The Repair Kit, the Dali meets the iPhone 6 Plus, the Spatula 6 Plus and the iPhone Origami are very creative and of course, hilarious.

I can't stop laughing with the repair kit and the spatula. They made my day!

Yea, an amazingly cheap investment for whoever started it, huh? Buy less than 10 people a ~$700 item. Maybe give them a $1000 so they are really motivated. Bend and complain.... stock price changes, huge media news, etc.

And, it works well, because few even fact-check anymore and I imagine only a small percentage of those worked up over this will even check out some of the tests done by a number of labs and consumer agencies in the last couple of days showing Apple falls right in line with the others and certainly should bend during any normal use.

What I find especially funny is that the Apple-haters are so cocked and ready to go that they seem to imagine Apple would just design and ship something like this without even considering testing durability aspects. THAT should be what the jokes are about!
