re: BlackBerry World: 5 Changes RIM Users Must See
The only real disagreement I have with the article is the statement that last year, sales hadn't yet bottomed out, which implies that sometime between then and now, it did. That would also imply that sales have been on the rebound. Where is the evidence for that? It seems that sales are continuing to drop, as evidenced by the last quarterly report. It's believed that sales will continue to drop.

This is a serious problem because as they drop, there may not be enough users by late this year to allow RIM to bounce back. By that time, BB10 or not, the platform may be in such severe decline that nothing can help it.

re: BlackBerry World: 5 Changes RIM Users Must See
Too bad your ideas cannot happen, since without a final BB 10 phone, the developers will be left still waiting to really get enough ecosytem ready for the BB 10 launch. BB phones came first, and then the programs later on. This is is all backwards and everybody knows it. Also, QNX was a bad choice and that has been written up extensively for two years now that it was a bad choice. That bad choice created the Playbook disaster and two years after QNX was bought, they still do not have a QNX phone. What more do you need to know that QNX has too many problems and has been a turn off to the developers.
RIM everybody knows that RIM should have taken already existing proven OS technology and made a new generation smartphone by year 2009/2010 at the latest.
Everyday so many people in No America are getting rid of their old 3G BB phone for something fantastic from Apple or Android makers. That is all you need to know too.
