In other notable moves...
KNIME moved up a tad in the leader's quadrant, Tibco was added to the 2015 report (though its advanced analytics tools have been around a while), Angos moved from Challenger to Niche Player, and Megaputer was dropped for lack of customer references.

Not many cloud-based vendors made it
Amazon Web Services' RedShift data warehouse hosts the analytics from 19 partners, I think. But I only see Alteryx and Tibco included in the quadrant. Analytics in the cloud isn't faring so well. Still mostly an on-premises system? Data privacy and security concerns keep it there?

Re: Not many cloud-based vendors made it
There's analytics and then there's "advanced analytics," Charlie. When Gartner's "Analytics and Business Intelligence" quadrant comes out, you'll see most of those other RedShift partners on the list. Advanced Analytics is the stuff of predictive analytics. Descriptive analytics covers simpler trending and forecasting based on historical data and without sophisticated modeling, scoring and so on.

Re: Next up, business intelligence
I just saw the BI Quadrant, and sure enough, Redshift partners including Qlik, Tableau, Panorama, Tibco, Yellowfin, and MicroStrategy are all included. Unfortunately, Gartner observes that most of these vendors treat their cloud- and on-premises products as two separate worlds.
