Donut mug - I love this idea! But when eating it, I am afraid of the extra energy it will give to me. For the moment I am still a thin and slim guy but how about being served by donut mug everyday?:-)

Re: Positive Environmentalism
That's a possibility. I also think that calorie-wise, the edible coffee cup is one of the more innocent menu items coming out of KFC. This is the same chain that's replacing bread with fried chicken - http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2015/01/26/double-dog-down-kfc-fried-chicken-hot-dog-sandwich/22350739/.

"because society will benefit greatly by turning 0-calorie beverages into 2,000-calorie meals"

@swagv: Why can't you have something made out of diet sugar and other materials that wouldn't contribute towards the calories? Doesn't sound so impossible to me.

"I love bread bowls, you're right that it's a similar idea. Now you have me thinking whether we can apply the same concept to a donut mug filled with coffee..."

@kelly22: That sounds rather yum! I'd strongly suggest that you get this idea copyrighted under your name before someone else implements it :)

@ swagv

It won't be long till someone is blaming KFC because they got up to 350 lbs because they started drinking the edible cup coffee...but it tastes soooo goooooood!

The whole thought and description of the edible cup makes me want to gag a little. What happens if you forget your half filled cup of joe in the dash of your car and come back out after a long day at the office to find the cup has softened and allowed your coffee to run all over your car. Can't imagine this fad will last long at all.

I prefer my coffee strong and in a cup that might break if I drop it.

Yes, because society will benefit greatly by turning 0-calorie beverages into 2,000-calorie meals.

However I would prefer a cup of milk tea when I am tired. It will give me energy to continue my day.

This is an interesting article. However I am not quite sure whether coffee is good for health.
