This customer has no affinity for the Ziosk dining experience
"We're exploring whether we can do a better job of offering the right kinds of promotions when the guest is most receptive..." And I was  hoping the restaurants would be a last refuge from customer affinity, electronic device promotions.  I'll await the chain that advertises a Ziosk-less dining experience.

I wonder if they'll see a big spike in complaints -- the kind of grumblings that people wouldn't bother to call and complain about, but that they'll type in at the table while they wait for the check.

POS data (like customer names) goes into the warehouse. As I understand it, the PII does not go off to the cloud.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to crack the data  for the allegedly "anonymized" POS data?  Probably not very.  And data is rarely anonymous regardless of sugar-coated promises to the contrary, especially by industry.
