The chip business for smartphones is such an odd one in that Apple and Samsung are competing when it comes to phones themselves but work together on internal components.

It seems Apple has figured out despite the rivalry Samsung puts together the best massive scale chip operations for its phones despite any disputes they may have as business partners elsewhere.

This is great news for people who desire to purchase a device whose brains are manufactured by Samsung, but still desire a product which has a very high markup.
