That's a very cool idea, David. I also love vintage style.

Re: Time to Get Rid of This Old Thang.......
@Ariella- i've always had this plan, if I ever won the lottery to do something similar. I've always really liked the 40's. Don't know why, just always attracted to Big Band Music, movies of the era, etc.

i want to make a 40's room where everything in the room is vintage or replica from the period. Except i don't want to miss out on some modern conveniences, so I would take a blue tooth speaker with 40's Spotify playlists and hide it under the shell of a vintage radio. And i want to take a typewriter and make it a keyboard and an early TV from the era and put a modern monitor inside. So to the eye, it looks like a room from the period, but I still have my stuff.

@Dave sounds good. You know what else would be cool? Packing a computer into an old  style wooden radio box.

I  love the wooden body. I can see this inspiring some Instructable post on building your own wooden computer body.

If only...
...cables were worth something. I have more USB, RCA, Firewire, Ethernet, 1/4", 1/2", and serial cables than I know what to do with.

Re: Time to Get Rid of This Old Thang.......
@Technocrati- I don't know, but a lot, i'm sure. I had a little dig through artifacts this weekend. I cleaned out my understairs storage closet for the first time in years. It was sort of like archeology. The farther I got back in the closet the older the stuff was. I found kids shows that kept getting smaller and smaller. And work from school getting easier and easier. I've recently been considering thinning my old tech herd, especially of old gaming consoles, but the news today is making me rethink it. I know a 5 million Nintendo 64s were made compared ot just a couple thousand Apple 1s. But how many N64s have already been thrown out when the owner bought a Wii?
