re: When Smart Mobile Technology Meets Good Science
Anything that helps patients be more compliant with their treatments is always a good thing. Being able to communicate this compliance with treating physicians is even better. People tend to be more compliant with anything when they know someone is watching and/or monitoring. Let's hope this side of technology really takes off so chronic disease management is even easier on patients & physicians.

re: When Smart Mobile Technology Meets Good Science
I love this! I agree that the science has to be the driving factor behind the application, not just the shiny bells and whistles. It needs to provide some clinical decision making data to truly add any value to quality of care.

I recently saw a medication reminder app, which was all fine and cute. But it would've been 1000x more useful if the person could journal their compliance with the medication and perhaps side effects they felt etc... And then if that app could connect with the physician system somehow, -- it's a win-win for MU medication reconciliation in addition to being a critical piece of clinical information for physician to review with patient.
