I had a manager that took a 15 minute nap every morning at 9:00. He would set his alarm, pull his hat over his eyes and snore till the alarm sounded. He said that made him "good to go" four the rest of the day.

Relaxing is good for you
Taking the time to relax such as doing a meditation (even if it's silly self-aggrandizement) usually makes people more productive and better able to make decisions. So even if it's silly, i hope all CIO's have a few minutes to spare.

petty things
It really amazes me how do people at C-level bother about such petty things like office size, location, stationery and other fringe benefits.

Perhaps the human nature does not change, irrespective of the job title.
