Twitter is layoffing 5000 employees
"Twitter will lay off 8% of its workforce. With most of the cuts coming in the product and engineering team, the move raises questions about the company's plans and direction"

Jessica, you are right. Today in media they have announced that, they are going to layoff around 5000 employees. But not specified whether it's a region wise or global layoff.

Growth curve
"Twitter has been under new pressure since its IPO two years ago, as investors and analysts have scrutinized its user numbers and expressed disappointment that they haven't grown faster. The company reported 316 million monthly active users in the quarter ended June 30, up from 276 monthly active users in the quarter ended June 30, 2014."

Jessica, I feel that growth rate is steady when compare with previous years.  We cannot expect the growth rate in a steady manner after a certain point. In revenue generation too the same can happen. The best way for a better growth is diversification either in business or service.
