What if it isn't terrorist related?
What if a government came across an effort to, say, cheat on income taxes? What if they came across the intent to commit a violent crime? It wasn't what they were looking for, but can they take action anyway? Can they get the guy for cheating on his taxes? Can they stop the violent crime?

Big brother
When you propose a bill that sounds like the main focus of a dystopia in 1984, maybe you should take a step back and take a breath. Terrible things had happened, perpetrated by some very bad people. Have our governments really become so scared as to sacrifice everything for security? I'm glad the big corporations are taking a stand here in favor of privacy and individual rights. Let's hope there is enough of a voice to protect the law-abiding individuals.

Re: Big brother
It's not that simple.

The big corps want the sheep to exploit, but on their own terms.

They seem to be more concerned that their game will be pre-empted by the statists.

This topic is worthy of long discussions over many beers.
