Re: new innovation by APPLE
Akhan,

I share your sentiments entirely.

Let me also add that now that the Big 3 Carriers are moving away from the Phone Subsidy Model,Apple's fat profit margins here in the US are going to be much-much lower going ahead.

I for one can't see them sponsoring Zero down plans for all those Americans who are struggling to make ends meet and/or on Food Stamps(45 million of them).

Apple better be prepared for a big downswing in Sales as well as Prices going ahead if they want to retain their market-share).

That's the only way its gonna work now.

Susan,

How are reading the current fight between the FBI and Apple?

After all Apple had no issues shipping all Consumers Data wholesale to the NSA before Snowden exposed it openly for the entire world to see?

[I can't believe that Apple had absolutely no inkling of what was happening with all their Consumers Data before snowden exposed it).

Don't you feel this is all Drama and theatrics on Apple's part?

Re: new innovation by APPLE
Admittedly Apple Products from design to marketing are very good.  However,  it is my considered opinion that Apple hype and glow in the market creates a momentem of much demand that is way too highly prized and no matter what people like Susan here Apple is no Rolls Royce amongst smart phone as most phones running Google OS have lower prices and better feautures comaperd to IPHONES.

Unless Apple lowers prices to compete with very strong prouducts emrging now on the market like the Chinese Smart Phone Huwei 6E for Google,   Apple will see a decline in sales in years to come.   There is no way Apple could keep on doing better than the rest smart phone makers.

As a frequent vistor to nearby Malls,   I now see a marked decline in number of people /customres showing up at many Apple Stores on EAST COAST.    I feel the new Apple SE mentined here will not generate much Sales for Apple this year till Apple 7 appears in Fall thie year.   Till that time I will reserve my judgment.

Re: are new innovation, just enhancements
Ashish, since I am an iPhone user I can tell you there is no better similar device that has convinced me in any way to be superior than the iPhone. I use it as one of work tools and has proven to deliver more than I expected and more than what I knew the device could do. I would not change my iPhone 6 Plus for any other, and will upgrade to iPhone 7 Plus without a second thought. You really need to know the device to see what is worth. One invaluable thing is, again, that Apple devices work. About the Lunar Calendar holiday sales I imagine it's just the same like the crazy Christmas holiday season. You see sales everywhere before, during, and after. We know absolutely all the productors sold are way overpriced. Giving the incentive to a discount on iPhones attract customers who will not only possibly buy an iPhone, but other products as well. It's just a marketing strategy that proves to be effective in any part of the world. Now, it's true that the demand forf iPhones in China is lower than in other parts of the world. Local brands have a real impact in China. It's the same that once happened with Nokia phones in Finland. Back then, no other phone manufacturer sold better than Nokia. -Susan

Re: are new innovation, just enhancements
Susan,

One more very interesting report just in.

JD.com(one of China's biggest E-commerce vendors) just cut the prices of all the latest iPhones by 20% to promote sales ahead of the Lunar Calendar Holiday(by far the biggest shopping season in China).

Even at this time(when most consumers buy stuff) you need to cut prices to make any sales.

What does that tell You?

No real demand .

The other report came form our very own Informationweek-iPhones lack the Mojo!

What is left to say now?

Susan,

This article talks very clearly about the collapse of iPhone and iPad sales and how tough the future looks for Apple now-www.fiercemobileit.com/story/apples-iphone-and-ipad-struggles-are-real/2016-01-26

Its not going to smooth sailing for Apple anymore.Just like Samsung they have a massive Battle ahead of themselves .

Re: are new innovation, just enhancements
@Susan Fourtane,

Spot on!

And you ask a very important question: Why are developers rushing after only release the previos iteration less than a year ago? I mean, from a project development point of view it must be exhausting to come up and deliver new features, only for most folks to not know about and then work on the next iteration.

What is interesting is that there are so many budget friendly devices that provide just the right amount of functionality that should suffice what most users really need, yet they don't sell as well as more premium products that are certaintly under utilized (despite many articles explaning how to use them)

Re: are new innovation, just enhancements
Ashish,

Yes, thanks. I will read today's sales report.

I have to agree with you. Having to pay the entire cost of the phone certainly affects sales. And trying to get a better slice in the Chinese and Indian market certainly means lowering prices.

Re: are new innovation, just enhancements
Susan,

I request you to read up on the latest(Quarterly) Sales Report  that Apple just released today.

That's when you will get my point.

It also does'nt help Apple's case that US Telecom Providers are aggressively moving away from the old Carrier Subsidy Model for Phones. When consumers have to pay the entire cost of the Phoneupfront;their behavior most definitely becomes more conservative and circumspect.

This is a development which can't be neglected.

And neither is there any doubt that they are aggressively cutting prices in China and India in their desperation to grab market-share there.
