Women in IT: Limor Fried (aka Lady Ada)
I know Limor has already received a couple awards, including the Pioneer Award by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, but I would cast my vote for her simply due to her constant and inspiring presence in the industry.  I point to her when showing my daughter what is possible, especially when she gets discouraged with programming projects.  We spend a lot of time on the Adafruit Industries website thanks to Lady Ada!

Re: Women in IT: Limor Fried (aka Lady Ada)
When you meet an IT hero, you know it. it's almost like they save your life --- your digital life at least. But perhaps what also distinguishes them is that they are a minority. Most IT people do not act like heroes. They're more like security guards.

Re: Women in IT: Limor Fried (aka Lady Ada)
I feel you on that comment Broadway0474, though I'd be quick to note that the tech community has many layers.  I'm personally no hero; in fact, it is folks like Fried, Torvalds, Stallman, Berners-Lee, so on, who saved me and gave me a career through their hard work.  Yet I see tech shifting as a whole and more and more of us are getting involved.  For instance, I never really fought for anything and used tech to get money and to keep me occupied.  Now I've taken a deep interest in tech like Tor, Bitcoin and causes of the FSF and EFF and feel someday I may join the fight in a meaningful way.  Lists like this - I believe - help inspire those of us who might not be interested initially in more heroic acts :-)

2015 award recipients?
@Susan: There should be more categories so more talent can be recognised. Where we can see the 2015 Award recipients?

Trophies for Techies
I'm curious to see who makes the list. I would like to see some previously-unknown faces in the mix. I'm looking forward to learning more about the winners ---- once they're finally picked. It'll be better than watching a three hour awards show for sure!
