Really good point, and something to beware of -- very unfair of MSFT overall

Re: Windows 10
"It has been suggested that Windows 10 could make a positive difference for PC progress."

Great article Kelly, and this states a lot, and I agree that Windows 10 is definitly opening up the road for more PC sales, since it's narrowing the gap between Smartphones and PCs.

I love windows 10, have 4 PCs running it using as dedicated HTPC... and I love it, more because that I can run the same apps that I usually use for entertainment, so it's insanly convenient having since everything is in sync.

@tzubair, I agree that the next step would be increasing Mobile Device growth for Microsoft, which they are still struggling to gain sufficient momentum to get on the radar at the consumer level.

Re: Windows 10
@progman2000,

Althought I do agree that the Windows 10 update can easillly sneek in, but you can revert back (granted it's a time consuming task).

I honestly can't blame Microsoft for trying to get everyone onboard. Even thought we well know that for many (if not all companies) have certain legacy apps that do render a type of road block when considering upgrading to a new OS, I do have to state that given so many services being browser based that I think this concern because more of part of that 10 to 20% of the market.

And given the fact that most folks feel very confortable with Smartphones and using web based applications, it's more of a transition than anything else... IMHO

Re: Windows 10
It's a lot easier to get acceptance for a new OS when you shove it down the throats of your consumer base through Windows updates. I have already had a number of clients who have unknowingly upgraded and screwed themselves out of legacy apps...

Windows 10
"Tech giants including Huawei, HP, Lenovo, Panasonic, and Alcatel arrived in Barcelona with computers running Windows 10."

I think it's a great news for Microsoft to have such a good acceptance of Windows 10. This should give the boost that Microsoft has been looking through the new OS. What's needed now is more partners investing in Windows 10 based smart devices so that the share increases and iOS and Android users are converted on Windows. The next growth avenue is the devices so the share has to come from that side.
