The business of connecting process
While I'm a regular user of some of the platforms Planner hopes to replace, I see real value in what Microsoft is doing with this launch. Replacing multiple systems and workflows with a single platform seems like it could be an amazing time saver.

There are better alternatives out there
The articles says that Microsoft plans to introduce "the ability to assign a task to multiple users, external user access, plan templates, customizable boards". Well, all this -- and much more -- is already available in Kerika which is an enterprise-scale tool for Kanban and Agile, unlike, say Trello, which is great for organizing your recipes and stuff but not for managing large projects or many different projects.

Microsoft Planner might work for die-hard MS fans but almost everybody else is likely to be better off with something like Kerika.
