Microsoft and mobile
Microsoft has no clear plan on mobile anything. They should get out of the hardware business entirely and focus on what they are or were good at. Also, calling a 500$ device "budget" is quite a stretch. When I think "budget" it is in the sub 200$ range. Microsoft could operate way better in that area if Windows would not be this big fat piece of stuff. Take a hint from Linux on the Pi, 35$ hardware that comes with an enterprise ready OS with GUI. All that Microsoft managed to give us on the Pi is a 1980s command line.

Microsoft killing customer loyalty while killing their product lines.
I'm wondering if Microsoft will also simultaneously sabotage Surface 3 product usefullness by pushing a security update that disables features thereby making the product useless like Microsoft did when they ended support for the surface 2.  They left many customers hanging in the wind.
