re: Windows 8 Vs. Windows RT: 8 Key Differences
I am very disappointed that the Windows RT OS is incapable of running Dish's Slingplayer which normally enDish customer to take advantage of the ability to view live TV or recorded shows from the DVR. that option on their
Hopper DVR. As a result Windows RT renders my new Asus tablet incapable of playing live TV, or Watching recorded shows on the Hopper. I hope Microsoft comes up with a fix for this shortcominin the near future!

Windows 9? Must an alpha build. Did they keep the Modern UI introduced in Windows 8?

re: Windows 8 Vs. Windows RT: 8 Key Differences
Why do we need a new Windows to "dynamically display personalized information such as the current weather or the number of messages in your inbox"?

Don't we already have that? Isn't it up to the developers to implement in their apps?

What am I missing?

Been using Windows 9 Preview Evaluation Copy Build 8400 for months now. Seems solid except for IE10, which is virtually useless.Let's hope the consumer release gets it right. Many IE-only websites don't recognize IE10 and deny entry.

3. Windows RT is designed to run atop BREW, Symbian(?), other OS providing user mode functionality only, no Windows kernel functions.

1. Lack of journalistic integrity by failure to do fact checking
2. "Windows RT" is a presentation interface like Cocoa for IOS or "Java" (the Java Micro Edition clone used by Google) used in Android. (Windows Presentation Foundation, used in older Windows versions, now includes Windows 8.) Its like using a different window manager in Unix.

While the nuggets of data were good - the formatting of this slideshow was the WORST I've EVER seen! The editor who approved this needs to be slapped and forced through this a few times - may he/she will learn to not waste our time and alienate their base that way.

Well, tech marketer you must be a lucky guy.
You got virtual desktop, and all the Operating Systems existing.
I imagine how you change them every 3 minutes and this makes your life more more easier and relaxing.
Congrats.

It looks far too much like iPad or iPhone to me - Microsoft should sue Apple!

re: Windows 8 Vs. Windows RT: 8 Key Differences
1. MS Windows Applications are getting better, but still have the same old Microsoft character of having random lock ups / reboots. I am not convinced on the reliability for the mobile / tablet market.
2. Windows from a security standpoint is always on the bullG«÷s eye list of hackers wanting to steal private information.
3. Why would Microsoft want to lose 50% of the business market for operating sales? This is the bread and butter of Microsoft. Is there something along the horizon that is better? and has not hit the media yet? Possible Cloud computing by 3rd party vendors? Still with the cloud someone else is managing security. I doubt that businesses with rush toward it unless they themselves have security control over their data.
4. The tablet seems like it does not offer much more than the competition. Why pick a Microsoft tablet over an android? or Linux OS? These seem very fast and stable. MS will have to get whistles and bells that WOW the market to survive here. AllG«™.. Just my opinion.
