I had no idea there were so many apps out there (20k+) to manage health, although it's definitely welcomed in my opinion. Anything we can do to make patients more conscious of their lifestyle habits, manage their conditions or promote good preventative medicine will ultimately bring down the cost of healthcare and increase patient care and outcomes. I also like the social aspect of some of the apps, which allows them to share their exercise routines, eating habits, etc. with others online and hopefully get others to take up the same regimen. More doctors should be pushing these applications onto their patients, and it should become an everyday part of patient plans.
