re: Is 2013 Year Of The MOOC?
I think this is only a positive development. are now offering ECTS credits in Europe with two of their courses, provided the students sit the final exam on campus. This is really the decmocratization of education- it enables those from lower incomes to access a quality of education they would never have otherwise been able to access.

My business model says :
1.- Buy EDX courses for your school
2.- Let your students take online courses fully
3.- Do your final exam in your school and provide credits toward degrees from your school
You do not need proctoring and pay $ 100 or so which still you may not trust .
4.- Charge only $ 10 per course. Coursera charges only $ 36 per course
5.- My belief never trust for profits, therefore go to edx.
6.- I do not like Straighterline courses. They do not have the value of elite schools. such as MIT Harvard Stanford

StraighterLine CEO Burck Smith emailed these clarifications to the story above:

"* Both Coursera and Udacity are now submitting their courses to ACE Credit for review. WeG«÷ve been doing this for 4 years and have 50+ courses already reviewed and recommended.
* Udacity has a one college (CSU Global) that will award credit for one course. CSU Global and 30 other colleges formally recognizes most of our courses for credit. WeG«÷ve been working with CSU Global for about 3 years.
* We require all final exams to be proctored online. We have ProctorU fully integrated into our offerings."
