re: RIM BES 10: Too Little, Too Late
What isn't mentioned is the other MDM are double the licensing cost and provide a fraction of management BES and BES 10 provide. The question is really how big a pie will corporate liable be in enterprise? No one is going full BYOD nor is it mandatory. So you'll have a sizable corporate liable deployment still which will likely remain Blackberry as Apple, Android and Microsoft are not providing the tools to secure and manage their devices without serious cost and limitations.

re: RIM BES 10: Too Little, Too Late
It's been a double edged sword for BB. They have taken a long time to retool so that they DO get it right. However, that delay has opened the barn door to the competition and, now it's (arguably) too late for them to ever regain their stature.
In addition to the problems mentioned in the article, BB10 must function perfectly out of the gate. RIM has no time in which to fix major flaws, and this is the first iteration of the OS and services. That means that there will be flaws.
Companies have the problem of their customers deciding that if the new products obsolete everything the old products had and did, they may as well move to something else. This is happening already, before the new products even come out.
It would have been smarter to make a big splash with the new BB hardware at the same time. The current gen devices stink, so the prospect of a forced upgrade is probably appealing to end users. Lorna Garey, IW Reports
I didn't touch on this in the article. There are other forces here, such as phablet that may end up upsetting the apple cart even more when it comes to enterprise computing. Why do I need a work PC, BYOD tablet, and phone. I want one.

re: RIM BES 10: Too Little, Too Late
Smartphone makers can't succeed without widespread consumer success. BYOD, or at least choose-your-own-device, is too strong, so no CIO wants to make a bet on a device that's a pure enterprise device. Michael's right to handicap these enterprise capabilities, they're part of the mix, but his conclusion is right on that one of the biggest factors will still come down to "do employees want these?" But I'm not ready to count BB out yet on that front.
