re: Europe's Fastest Satellite Broadband Service Debuts
"According to Ofcom's U.K. data, 10% of those who do get broadband can't get service over 2 Mbps. " A little translation here. DSL is (IMHO) LESS than 1.5 Mbps. If you do not have Cable or Glass, you are getting less than these poor, deprived Europeans. You're probably paying significantly MORE for the (IMHO) shoddy service that you're probably getting. It's about time that the US got at least up to the 19th century.

re: Europe's Fastest Satellite Broadband Service Debuts
Fastest speeds - I doubt it. Satellite, by it's nature, is subject to latency issues. Not a big deal for web pages, but for streaming video and gaming it is a huge deal. They also declined to say what the charges for overages are - I could use 30Gb in less than a week in the US. All that being said, it is an interesting venture for those who cannot otherwise get Internet access. I find it interesting that in 2013, we as a "civilized" society consider Internet as essential as water and electricity.
