Jonathan, your focus here on consistently doing something is a great one. That's the challenge I find, letting days slip away without getting any exercise as things get busy. 20 minutes is so much better than zero!

This brings to mind another age old saying Gǣhealthy body, healthy mind.Gǥ Of course while maintaining your health is important, the lessons you can take away from a steady schedule of exercise are extremely important and applicable in the health IT field. It certainly is a marathon, and not an easy one. For most there seems to be no end, and honestly there really isnGt, but when you stick with it, you will eventually begin and continue reaping the rewards.

Good point, Jonathan. I think those with strong physical endurance are more likely to keep their judgment and make the right decision after a period of extended effort and stress.They still have the physical resources to summon up, when needed, and don't yield to extreme or desperate decision-making induced by fatigue. I greatly regret today's attack on the Boston Marathon. It's a blow to everyone who loves running, fitness and a balanced life. Charlie Babcock, senior writer, InformationWeek

Great article. Congrats on the multiple marathons.

I've been exercising six days a week for 12 years and I'm in better shape now than I was 30 years ago.

If you're reading this and not exercising now, just start walking for 30 minutes a day -- the results you feel and see will inspire you to do more.
