Glass triggers my "We are now crossing the dystopian nightmare threshold" alarm, where our every move is tracked, analyzed and stored. Of course, we've already probably crossed that threshold, but Glass puts it...well...right in your face.

re: Google Glass: First Impressions
Not to come off as a Luddite, but I hope I'm strong enough to never, ever purchase Glass or any other similarly wearable technology. I may be shoving my head in the proverbial sand, but I don't like where this is likely headed (implants, anyone?). Today in the Oakland Tribune, there was a huge story about Glass (kudos to the Google PR machinery), and one of the "explorers" featured in the story talks about how she's always fantasized about wearable technology. I simply can not relate. Just what we need in this privacy-challenged world we're creating: people who can photograph or video you just by looking your direction. Blech.

re: Google Glass: First Impressions
I have to say GÇö when I first heard about Glass, I was skeptical, much like your daughter, who called it "impractical." I have a well-functioning Android, a separate GPS device for my car, and can take pictures and video with my phone. What use would Glass serve? It seems to me, though, that it makes taking pictures and videos on the go much easier, and if those functions are easier, once developers start creating apps for it, other functions will also follow suit. Additionally, the navigation features seem to be pretty helpful.
