CIOs definitely need to be agile and able to adapt to technological changes, and apply these changes to their needs. Not only are there technological changes that are happening, but with the prevalence of technology in our culture soon there will be change in the entire healthcare industry from providers, vendors, and even patients. Getting patients more involved in their healthcare and shifting the focus of patient care to minimize that amount of time the patient spends in the hospitals or clinics is part of this cultural shift.
