I think this is one of the reasons why having written recommendations on LinkedIn is important. Not only is it important to have a presence on here, but having written recommendations from colleagues or former supervisors shows recruiters that someone liked your work enough to want to take the time to write something about you -- other than simply endorsing your skills.
