re: Google Glass To Arm Police, Firefighters
I was reading this as an interest in using Glass as govt issued equipment to first responders, not BYOD as in owned by the individual firefighter or whoever.

Another integration into healthcare (which I'm always on the lookout for!) -- EMTs to viewing medical records while triaging patients at accident scenes.

Seems useful in all the situations written about, but what about cost?

Not yet, though I'd bet it's possible to partially disassemble Glass and mount it on a sturdier frame or inside a helmet.

Government agencies actually will find it very hard for Google Glass to satisfy standardized security and risk management provision that agencies need to apply on all BYOD devices, and which still haven't been fully ironed out. Even if agencies want to use Glass, the way firefighters might, it will take a while for the rules to catch up with the technology.

re: Google Glass To Arm Police, Firefighters
Is there any ruggedized version of Glass in the works that would be appropriate for public safety use?
