One of the chronic issues federal CFOs have faced for a long time is how long it takes to close their books each month/quarter. They've made a lot of headway. But the their legacy ERP systems, and the lack of timely and reliable data continue to hold them back from making smarter decisions (politics aside). The latest Grant Thornton survey has a good sense of the pulse on what CFO's are going through.
