Any advantages to a Dell Chromebook?
How much room is there for the manufacturers to differentiate their versions of the Chromebook? Is Dell claiming any particular distinguishing characteristics?

Dell's mark consists of the Dell Wyse PocketCloud, which handles student and teacher sharing and authentication. It will be released in January as a Chrome App. Other than that, there's not a lot of differentiation.

So maybe that's the strategy: lead with interesting apps and market the hardware as a byproduct.

This is really big success for Google's Chromebook. Dell is highly esteemed PC vendor across the globe and will certainly add to the reliability issues and confidence of the customers regarding Chromebook.Price is also going to boost Chromebook sales by encouraging low budget people to try the new thing compromising some of the best hardware.

Re : Dell Gets Into Chromebook Game
@ David F. Carr, it is interesting but doesn't seem likely. Apps for one operating system are generally compatible with all brands' hardware. Exceptions are signature apps from different vendors like one mentioned by Thomas Claburn. Hardware is the ultimate decider for both price and consumers' ultimate choice. Chromebook is in its evolving stages. Once it gets its feet firmly in the market, we will see the range of hardware distinctions.
