I fully agree - the point here is not behaving like a technical nerd and complaining that the customer do not understand the beauty of technical advancement. The innovation is always good but to make it prevail, you need to make your customer realize its benefits. In other words, they need to have something tangile in hand instead of seeing good demos only.

I give Benioff a lot of credit. He's out there celebrating innovation (and actually innovating) even while the company tweaks its vision statements. He's an industry thought leader. He isn't just pushing products.

Whose fault, really?
At some point, consistently blaming your customer base for not understanding your total hipster innovation awesomeness makes you the weird performance artist of the tech world. Much like the Aussie woman currently knitting with her [redacted], the problem isn't with the viewer.

Customer focus
After the social muddling, it seems like Salesforce has the right message around understanding and anticipating customers now. There's a lot of pressure inside companies there.  It just needs to deliver the goods. I don't have a clear sense if Salesforce has in place what it needs to do that, or still missing some pieces. Anyone with perspective on that?
